Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 5, 2026

Azan Home (“the app”) is published by Elmalki. This policy explains what information the app uses and why. The app has no accounts, no advertising and no analytics, and the publisher does not run any server that receives your data.

Location

The app needs your approximate location to calculate prayer times. It gets it in this order:

  1. Your device's location, if you allow the location permission.
  2. Your internet (IP) address, if the device can't provide a location: the app asks ipwho.is for the approximate city of your IP address. ipwho.is receives your IP address with that request. This is skipped if you deny the location permission.
  3. Your device's time zone setting, matched to a city in the app's built-in list.

You can instead choose your city manually in Settings, in which case no location is looked up. The location, city name and time zone are stored only on your device and are not sent to us.

Quran audio

Quran recitations are streamed from mp3quran.net. When you play a recitation, or a scheduled Friday or Daily Quran session plays, your device requests the audio file from their servers, which receive your IP address like any website does. The app also downloads mp3quran.net's list of reciters and stores it on your device.

Settings stored on your device

Your preferences (calculation method, Azan choices, volume, Quran schedules, favorite reciters) are stored only on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes them.

Permissions

Children

The app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
